From Ben - Paul Brown Petty Yep, it was a solid week.  Made some legit mistakes, found some areas where some improvement is needed, and drank from the cup of humility. Such a breath of fresh air honestly.  I unfortunately let pride sneak into my perspective, and it strangled so many viewpoints that I needed to have this week.  So, when the precise punch of Humility right hooks the big head of Pride, despite hurting initially, it is very much appreciated.  Knowing that I need to improve, and seeing how I can improve, is so much more exciting and refreshing than feeling stuck and superior.  So, with a renewed vigor for this upcoming week, it begins  Me and Elder Durant had to move the Baptismal date of some of our friends.  He was supposed to get baptized on the 29th, last Saturday, but something wasn't feeling right.  So, last Tuesday, after talking it over with eachother, we decided to push it back two weeks.  The lesson we had with them that...

From Ben: Growth as a Group Week number one in Weston.  It's so different from Timmins  Some differences being positive and some being negative.  The apartment is remarkably smaller than The Lodge, but it's kinda cute, so it almost balances. Got a good Ol' kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and study room.  A solid abode to return to after a good day's work.  The shower however, is dooky. Real dooky. Whilst enjoying a beautiful warm shower, in an instant, glacier cold spray will drench the entirety of my back.  Suppressing a scream, my whole body reflexively launches itself into the small corner of the shower where there is safety, and there I wait huddled until the water returns back to normalcy.  When so, with a some fear and hesitance I proceed to start shampooing and washing my hair.  But unexpectedly! The nice refreshing H²O alchemizes into molten magma onto the crown of my head. Resisting the urge to die on the spot, I leap away from th...

From: Ben - The Old Man in a Shoe Oh gosh. I barely remember what happened this week. It straight up disappeared!  On Monday, I was still in Timmins.  Tuesday, driving away from my sweet Memére. Morning of Wednesday was transfer day. Got to meet my new companion, Elder Durant. Afternoon of Wednesday, officially in Weston.  My world completely different from the one I came from.  For one, there are actually other missionaries near us.  Shocking! It's actually bizarre.  Every time I see a missionary I nearly do a double take.  (Something's familiar about these strangers like me) Then, there's district leadership.  It. Is. Wild. As soon as I found out who was in my district, my mind started BLAZING with things we could do, goals we could accomplish, and friendships we could build. However, it blazed a bit too much, (you ever watch a toddler start running, and in an instant you know they are going to fast for their bodies to keep up and they slowly, j...

From Ben - What's in its Pocketses? Timmins, the land of the North, the land of the cold. Where the snow never stops, and the Gospel is told. With air crisp and clean to breathe  After three and a half months, it's my time to leave.  (Thank you, thank you. I'm here all night) After a good run, the transfer news is in. I will be bidding my sweet French Memére a side hug goodbye, a couple of tears, and maybe a final game of sequence.  God's called me to Weston, a neighborhood area in Toronto, and He's called me to be a District Leader! I'll probably let it go to my head for a little bit, let others stand in awe of my new DL powers, embrace all the social clout and privileges that come from being in missionary leadership and hop on my Rameumptum. Totally kidding of course.  (Backflips off the Rameumptum)  Despite knowing that God ultimately makes the difference, and that any effort I put forward He will consecrate, I'm still a bit nervous.  District Lead...
